PrepL is an interactive, online learning and assessment program designed to improve learner driver education and give new drivers a safer start to their time on the road. PrepL, is intended to provide an online alternative to the current 30-question paper-based written test for a class C learner license.

In addition to benefiting from PrepL’s comprehensive road rules instruction, students can learn why the rules exist, and in a virtual environment, they can experience the consequences of poor driving behaviour. Assessment is embedded throughout training content and covers a range of topics to verify learners’ knowledge and understanding of concepts. PrepL is designed to improve learner driver education by focusing on developing safe behaviour's and attitudes. It will ensure new drivers know the road rules, and understand the impact of the fatal five road behaviour's: speeding, seatbelt use, fatigue, distraction, and drink and drug driving.

Drivers under 24 years of age continue to be over-represented in crash statistics and we regularly review research around licensing requirements.
